February Wildflowers

It must be spring, the wildflowers are starting to bloom!

Shooting Stars:

Johnny Jump Ups:

Blue Dicks:

Butter Cups:

Cryptanthus:

Don't know what this is, it's probably not a native,
it is growing wild though...

Not a flower, but pretty.

  5. I thought it must have been a macro. I have not had a true macro since the film days. We have been looking at the Nikkor 85mm f3.5 micro for this spring. Such a versatile lens to have for indoors and out.

  6. Dan, this is my first true macro, I didn't have one back in my film days. I just finally went for a digital SLR last year. These cameras are so amazing!

  8. Beautiful! It's such a good sign to see the spring flowers in the sun and you seem to have very different flowers from the ones that come up here in spring. It's still a bit cold for them here ... maybe in a week or so. Only the mimosa has come out so far.

  9. Beautiful wildflowers. I can't get enough of being outside right now--the day's are spectacular. There's more rain on deck for next week, but I'm not complaining, for we've had the most splendid days ever.

The wildflowers around here haven't started blooming yet. I've never seen shooting stars in this neck of the woods, but we've got poppies and lupine, and other goodies. I can't wait for them all.

Chaiselongue, The flowers and the sun are really lifting my spirits, it feels like spring. I would love to see the flowers that you get to enjoy in spring.

Christina, I saw the first wild poppy blossom when I took a walk in the regional park the other day, I love that orange color. Last year we had a pretty good year for wildflowers and there were a few places that were carpeted with lupine, I hope that happens again this year. The progression of different wildflowers is such a joy to watch.

I did hear that rain is heading our way again, but that's ok, we still need a lot more rain and like you I've been outside soaking up the warmth and sun. The rain will be a good excuse to cook up a batch of nice hot soup.
