I generally cut them out, these ones got away from me. I doubt I'll do the wheat experiment again, I was just curious about how it grew. On to other interesting stuff!Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07812702328134261533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-439775590468820468.post-9842127012905904052014-06-13T09:24:39.185-07:002014-06-13T09:24:39.185-07:00I had no idea that Swiss chard developed side shoo...I had no idea that Swiss chard developed side shoots...do all of them do that or only that particular variety? It's a shame about the wheat...I do love reading about experiments in the garden. Maybe you'll give it another go at some point in the future.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-439775590468820468.post-40829545880910445762014-06-13T04:42:45.818-07:002014-06-13T04:42:45.818-07:00It is too bad the wheat didn't work out. And I...It is too bad the wheat didn't work out. And I'm so happy not to have rats in the garden here. There are mice on occasion but so far haven't done any damage. They tend to like the worms in the compost piles more than my garden produce.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-439775590468820468.post-70126888097833768262014-06-12T19:58:30.293-07:002014-06-12T19:58:30.293-07:00I only count myself lucky that I've never had ...I only count myself lucky that I've never had to set rat traps in my garden. Though as you might recall, I had my fair share of large critters at my old garden. Luckily, we've been spared so far here at our new place. I don't think the wild life has caught on that there's food around now. Before, it was just rocks and dying grass.

Sorry to hear about your wheat.
