Perhaps this should be a Wordless Wednesday post since I have no idea what variety of Iris this is. This was planted by a previous owner. I've been tempted to take it out because it looks incredibly scraggly for most of the year.
It is pretty when it blooms.
Does anyone know what variety it is? For a lot more beautiful blossoms, be sure to visit May Dreams Gardens where Carol is hosting Garden Blogger's Bloom Day.
That's lovely! My great aunts were huge iris fanciers, I bet they would have known. It's cute, I know what you mean about the rest of the year with iris, though. I inherited a bunch too and mostly they annoy me... until they bloom, and then I forgive them!
Happy bloom day Michelle! I've really enjoyed your other flower posts this month as well, just too lazy to comment. And I do plan on making the green garlic pancakes this week ;->

ReplyDeleteOh I must try and remember about Gardeners Bloom Day next month! I'm afraid I don't know the variety of iris that you have, it's lovely though.
ReplyDeleteWow, I usually don't like iris besides our native I. douglasiana, but this is really very nice.

ReplyDeleteI have no idea, but it is truly lovely. I love irises of all stripes, though!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely bloom, Michelle. My guess is Iris aphylla.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful iris. Is that a Geranium blooming with it?
ReplyDeleteSweet Bay, that is a geranium of some sort. That plant volunteers all over my garden, almost a weed.
