I had completely forgotten that the caper plant that I'm allowing to bloom for seed saving purposes has pink blossoms! The typical caper blossom has white petals and pinkish purple stamens. There's pollen scattered on the leaves below from my efforts at helping pollination with a fine new little artists paintbrush. I'm not allowing any other capers in the garden to bloom right now so I'm not worried about cross pollination. If these set I'll try growing some out to see if the color gets passed on.
I can't get over how beautiful those flowers are!
ReplyDeleteSweet Bay, and they have a lovely scent!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful flowers! What a pity you have to choose between the flowers and the capers!
ReplyDeleteThey're gorgeous! They remind me a little of passion flowers.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. We must must try these.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh! The blooms are so unique - just like the Spider lilies that I laid my eyes on during my recent trip. How I wish I could find those here!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! Can you update? Did you get any pink blooming seedlings?
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, that's still the one and only pink blooming caper in my collection.
