Fog and Gobble

Nature's show this morning.

The fog thins as the sun comes up over the ridge

More sun, less fog

Less fog, more sun

Going...

Going...

Oblivious to the show the fog is putting on

The family Gobble forages for breakfast

Bye!

  1. How beauty transforms over time... fog, sun and hills, but to the family of Gobble, life is as usual. ~bangchik

  3. He he he, the last time I visited your corner of CA we saw a family of turkey's. They must be all over the darn place up there! It's finally hot here, now if I can only find time to go rip up dead or non-producing plants, amend and replant... Love the foggy pictures.

  4. You have such a beautiful view from your house. I had a great view when I was growing up, but not here in Massachusetts. Land of close in trees and our tallest "mountain" might be called a hill in the land of my youth.

  5. Hi Bangchik, the turkeys are just part of the beauty of it all, they just don't know it.

vrtlarica, that is my view, I'm spoiled. :)

Nartaya, those birds are all over the place, it's so fun to watch them, along with the rest of the wild life. I wish I had been able to get a good shot of the quail family that was foraging lower down the hill at the same time.

Daphne, Colorado right? That's real mountains. But I'm quite happy with the mountains that I get to see from here.

  6. Wonderful series of photos! We too see many wild turkeys on the grassy mountain top on Hawaii Island.

  7. Just beautiful -- I was in the city yesterday and got some sun; they said it was the first time all summer. Pretty fog, too bad about the tomatoes!

  8. Gorgeous vista! The fog layer in valleys is alway interesting to me. The turkey group must be very entertaining to watch as well. They are such big and strange birds, it is great that they are thriving in your area.

  9. Susan, turkeys on Hawaii, I didn't know that, how wonderful!

Stefaneener, sun in the city! You timed that right.

kitsapFG, I do love to watch the fog in all its permutations. It seems to have been a good year for a lot of wild life around here, turkeys and quail in the neighborhood and lots of whales in the bay. I wish I wasn't so prone to motion sickness, I would love to cruise out there and see them up close.

  10. Wonderful fog photos. And are those wild turkeys? Hard to imagine here in Europe where turkey is the most processed, factory-farmed of meats.

  11. Ah the infamous CA fog, love it love it love it -- if I don't have to drive through it especially at night.
Great vista, wildlife is so much fun to watch, thanks for sharing.
